More About Me

I am a trauma-informed therapist with over 25 years of experience supporting adults healing from religious harm, high-control group involvement and complex trauma. My work is shaped by both professional training and lived experience. Due to membership, for 26 years, in a high-control religious group, I understand how belief systems can shape identity, attachment and self-trust, and how leaving can impact family, community and a person’s sense of belonging.

I work with those who have recognized their experiences as harmful and want to find a way to a life of freedom. I work with survivors of religious and narcissistic abuse, spiritual manipulation and coercive control, including those who became involved in high-control groups where questioning was discouraged. Many of my clients struggle with shame, anxiety, dissociation, relationship difficulties or the long-term effects of chronic fear and control. Together we address internalized blame, rebuild self-trust and strengthen a grounded sense of self.

I also work with families to support their ability to cope with a loved one's group membership.

Unpacking your experience using Dr. Robert Lifton's criteria and Steve Hassan's BITE model is a foundation of our work.
My approach integrates EMDR, Internal Family Systems, DBT skills, Brainspotting and attachment-based therapy. I offer psychotherapy for residents of California, Texas, Florida and Colorado and therapeutic coaching nationwide.
